Privacy Policy

We're pretty serious about keeping your info safe

Last Updated: November 2024

Look, we get it - nobody actually enjoys reading privacy policies. But here's the thing: we've built our practice on trust, and that means being straight with you about how we handle your personal information. So we've tried to keep this as clear and jargon-free as possible.

Who We Are

We're Ravencrest Quinth Architecture, a contemporary design studio based in Vancouver, BC. We specialize in residential and commercial projects, and yeah, we collect some information when you reach out to us or use our website. Nothing sketchy - just what we need to do our job properly.

Our Details:
1250 Homer Street, Suite 402
Vancouver, BC V6B 1C5, Canada
Email: info@ravencrestquinth.info
Phone: (604) 555-0147

What Information We Collect

Here's what we typically gather, and why:

Stuff You Give Us Directly

When you fill out a contact form, send us an email, or call about a project, we'll collect things like your name, email address, phone number, property details, and whatever info you share about your project. We need this to actually respond to your inquiry - kinda hard to design your dream space without knowing what you're after.

Automatic Info from Your Visit

Like most websites built after 2005, ours collects some basic technical stuff automatically - your IP address, browser type, which pages you looked at, how long you hung around. We use this to improve the site and understand what content people actually care about. Nobody's tracking your every move, promise.

Cookies & Similar Tech

We use cookies to keep the site running smoothly and remember your preferences. Most of these are essential - without them, certain features just won't work. We're not using them to build some creepy profile of you, they just help the website function properly.

How We Use Your Information

We're not in the business of selling data or sending spam. Here's what we actually do with your info:

  • Project Communication: Responding to your inquiries, providing quotes, discussing design concepts, managing construction schedules - basically all the stuff needed to bring your project to life.
  • Service Delivery: Creating architectural drawings, coordinating with contractors, handling permits, following up on project milestones.
  • Legal Requirements: Keeping records for building permits, contracts, and other regulatory stuff we're required to maintain.
  • Website Improvements: Figuring out which pages are useful and which ones need work.
  • Occasional Updates: If you've worked with us and opted in, we might send updates about our studio or relevant industry news. You can unsubscribe anytime - we won't take it personally.

Who We Share It With

We don't sell your personal information. Period. But running an architectural practice means working with other professionals sometimes:

Project Collaborators

Structural engineers, contractors, interior designers, city planners - the folks who help make projects happen. We only share what's necessary for them to do their part of the work.

Service Providers

Companies that help us run our business - email hosting, cloud storage for drawings, accounting software. They're contractually obligated to keep your data secure and can't use it for their own purposes.

Legal Obligations

If the law requires it or if we need to protect someone's rights (including our own), we might have to disclose information. Hopefully this never happens, but we're being upfront about it.

How We Protect Your Data

We take security seriously because your trust matters. Our measures include:

  • Encrypted connections (that little padlock in your browser)
  • Secure servers with regular backups
  • Limited access - only team members who need specific information can access it
  • Regular security audits and updates
  • Secure file sharing for project documents

That said, nothing online is 100% bulletproof. We do our best, but can't guarantee absolute security - nobody honestly can.

How Long We Keep Your Data

We keep your information as long as needed for the purposes we collected it. For active projects, that's throughout the design and construction process. After completion, we maintain records for at least 7 years - that's partly for warranty purposes and partly because building regulations require it.

If you just inquired but didn't move forward with a project, we'll typically keep your info for about 2 years in case you change your mind, then delete it.

Your Rights

Under Canadian privacy laws (particularly PIPEDA), you've got some solid rights:

  • Access: You can ask what personal info we have about you. We'll provide it within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Correction: If something's wrong or outdated, let us know and we'll fix it.
  • Deletion: Want us to delete your data? We can do that, unless we're legally required to keep it (like for tax or building code purposes).
  • Objection: Don't want us using your info for a particular purpose? Tell us.
  • Portability: Want to take your data elsewhere? We can provide it in a commonly used format.
  • Withdraw Consent: Changed your mind about something you previously agreed to? That's totally fine.

To exercise any of these rights, just shoot us an email at info@ravencrestquinth.info. We'll respond within 30 days.

Third-Party Links

Our website might link to other sites - supplier catalogs, industry associations, project documentation platforms, whatever. We can't control their privacy practices, so check their policies before sharing any info. We're only responsible for our own site.

Changes to This Policy

We might update this policy occasionally as our practice evolves or laws change. When we do, we'll update the "Last Updated" date at the top and notify current clients if the changes are significant. For everyone else, checking back here now and then isn't a bad idea.

International Data

We're based in Canada, and that's where your data lives. If you're reaching out from outside Canada, your info will be transferred here and subject to Canadian privacy laws. These are pretty robust, but if you've got concerns, let's talk about it.

Children's Privacy

Our services aren't directed at anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from kids. If you're a parent and think we've somehow got your child's information, contact us immediately and we'll delete it.

Questions or Concerns?

If something in this policy doesn't make sense, or if you've got concerns about how we're handling your information, don't hesitate to reach out. We're here to help and we'd rather address issues directly than have you wondering about stuff.
